I have found that most people in Western Society are mad and dangerous. When you speak the truth, you are a threat to their craziness by being rational and truthful because they would rather live a crazy lie. – Moe Bedard

We are living in a crazy world. The deep awareness of the fallenness and brokenness of the world has always been the core of the Christian tradition. Buddhism talks in great detail about the madness of Samsara. All authentic wisdom teachings recognize the madness of the human condition. The search for a spiritual path is born out of suffering. Eventually everyone begins to recognize, however dimly, that there must be a better way. The good news is: there is a better way 🙂 That’s the great, liberating and life-giving insight (Gnosis). In his first sermon after attaining enlightenment, the Buddha said, “All I teach is suffering and the end of suffering.” That’s very important: transformation, liberation, enlightenment is possible. It is the potential of every human being. Never give up hope, my friend. There is another way of looking at the world. There is another way of being. The way of Christ. The way of Buddha. The way of all masters of wisdom and love. We need a balance of wisdom and compassion, truth and love. Speaking the truth in love (!) is very essential.
