I’ve been arguing this topic on and off for years with my brother. I have now stopped discussing the topic, it gets us nowhere.
He says he is half Norwegian and half Danish. I say we are neither. I maintain we are Europeans with a citizenship from the country we were born in. We stem from European parents. One parent who had a Norwegian citizenship and the other with a Danish citizenship. I cannot make him understand that nationality is not biological but only a legal status.
Incidentally, you are wrong in your definition of race. Whether a person is European, Negro or Oriental, it is only one race- human race. The test to find race is, can they interbreed? If the answer is yes, it is the same race. If not, then it is a different race. Don’t confuse ethnicity with race, they are not the same.
Europe is a continent, not a race, tribe, and or specific bloodline. Therefore, a person cannot be scientifically identified by their current home or where they live because land/earth does not define race. In regards to one human race, sure we are humans, but we are verified to be hybrids with different ancestors and genetic characteristics that define who we are in our blood which is much like a history book in which we all have different histories and talents.
You are the one confusing people when the fact is ethnicity is one of the main factors in determining where a tribe or race today had originated before the great migrations of the 6th Age.
Of course Europe is a geographical area. The word European was used in the context that the “whites” are mostly from there, and most people know what I am talking about when the word European is used when referring to people.
However, replace the word European which I used,with the word Caucasian if you think that helps. I repeat, most people know to what I was originally referring to anyway I’m sure. It seems just nitpicking to me.
It’s likened to saying ” the sun rises” the sun is motionless but we all know what it means.
I still stick with what I originally wrote and still feel comfortable with what I wrote.
I’ll do the same here as I have with my brother i.e. stop talking about it . It’s getting us nowhere.
