(By Eliphas Levi & Moe) – The Gnostics made it through the igneous body of the Holy Spirit; and it was him who was adored in the rites of the sabbath or of the temple, under the hieroglyphic figure of Baphomet or the Androgynous Goat of Mendes.
TEM OHP AB (Temple omnium hominum pads abba) is Latin for “father of the temple, universal peace of men. ” TEM OHP AB spelled backwards is where we get the word Baphomet. The image we see today of Baphomet is nothing more than a symbol representing initiation into the secret mysteries used by initiates of the Great Work.
The philosophical stone, the universal medicine, the transmutation of metals, the quadrature of the circle, and the secret of perpetual motion are then neither mystifications of science nor dreams of foolishness; they are the terms which express all the different uses of the same operation, which is defined in a way more generally by calling it simply the great work.
The term Great Work (magnum opus), is the process of self initiation into the secret mysteries and self-mastery. True Gnosticism through mastering thyself. Taking control of our minds and bodies for the full and entire conquest of our faculties and our future. The Great Work of transforming ourselves, our minds, our bodies and our worlds into whatever we dream to overturn and change the face of the world.
This force was known to the ancients: it consists of a universal agent, the supreme law of which is equilibrium, and through its direction one immediately holds the great arcanum to transcendental magic. The Law of Three Forces,’ or the Three Pure Ones. The number 3 is the power of all creation which uses the law of three forces to create; and as the great mathematician Pythagoras had said, “all is numbers.”
A force that can be used for good or to create light, which can be called white magic; or used for bad or darkness, which would be black magic. ORDO or CHAO. Light or Darkness. Truth or Lies.
These same patterns are reproduced in all levels of the cosmos, that which is also found in man; this is why he is also called the microcosm for the word κόσμος kósmos, which means “order” as well as “world” or “ordered world.” Living an ordered life that is reconciling the active and receptive in perfect equilibrium with natural law that is governed by the Trinity or Law of Three Forces, so that we live a righteous life of truth, peace and love.
By directing this agent, it is possible to modify the very order of the seasons, to produce at night the phenomena of day, to travel in one extremity of the earth to the other, to see, like Apollonius, what is happening on the other side of the world, to heal or hurt from a distance, to give, in a word, universal success and reverberation.
This agent which barely manifests itself under the uncertain methods of Mesmer‘s disciples, is precisely that which the adepts of the middle ages called first matter of the great work.

I am no hipmonkey, but Eliphaz was one of the founders of the Order of The Golden Dawn and I don’t understand why so much you post seems to be so much on the dark side of magick and rituals. Free Masons, at least at one point, refer to God or the divine as the master architect. They do this so many different spiritual paths can be members and included, although most are Christians. I just don’t understand why you seem to want to take power to and from a dark place and energy. The term satan really is a title, ‘ha-satan’ meaning enemy of God and Lucifer (pride) was not the only satan recognized. Samael (hate), Beelzebub (gluttony), Leviathan (envy), Asmodeous (lechery), Avarice (greed), Mammon (sloth) and several others were also considered by legacy to be fallen seraphim or energies sent to tempt mortals to what are considered by christains to be sin. Originally thrown out of the old order because he published rituals of theirs, Aleister Crowley played in the dark energies and died not well or happy and wealthy at all. It is also said by A.E. Waite that to practice black magick is to call upon those considered fallen with impunity. So they take you up and then bring you down. They are not fond of humans. One old belief is that they fell because they didn’t want to serve or help humans and were upset at their creation. But that is pulling from OT dogma. I don’t understand from your posts just how you are gnostic? Or maybe it is just I don’t play with the dark energies, even if they would be effective in securing some things I might want in this life. Just some thoughts.

Satan is Set or Seth who was a deity from Ancient Egypt who represents darkness and chaos. That is who rules this world at the moment, but DOES NOT rule me. Satanism is living in the flesh and do thou wilt regardless of God’s laws or nature etc. It is the Left Hand Path. Money, sex, gluttony and all that… I do not walk the LHP.
Lucifer is just the chemical energy called Phosphorus that is the light within our DNA. Eliphas Levi told the truth and had some great occult teachings. Some I follow and some I simply do not. Yes, he did play with magick, but that does not mean I do and just because I quote him, does not mean I do what he did or am a member or the Golden Dawn.
