The General History of the Gnostics

The true story of the Gnostics is one of the most beautiful, and tragic epics of all time. Some of the world’s most famous people in history play leading actors in this tale of knowledge, conquest and global domination. The ancient Egyptians, Phoenicians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Indians, Celts, Vikings, Europeans, Muslims and even the Catholic Churches of Rome and Greece play huge roles in this fabulous history. Various religious sects like the Tribes of Israel, the Jews, Christians and Muslims, and the many secret societies such as the Knights Templar, Freemasons, Rosicrucians, and Sufis also play leading roles in this old Gnostic world theatre.

The beginning history of the Gnostics we can safely say started way back when humans started questioning the deepest secrets of the universe and the hidden spiritual world. To comprehend the very world in which we live, the heavens above, human behavior and the constitution of our very own souls. Over thousands of years, many noble men and women in various parts of the world such as Egypt, Crete, Greece and Italy to name a few, would dedicate their lives to the study of these questions in the pursuit of knowledge of all things and the perfection of thyself that became known as the “Great Work,” and the path of the Gnostics.

This is the time in history when humans had sought to understand the nature of all things. A time we can say that they became Gnostics who practiced their own brands of Gnosis. As time moved on, humans created various inventions with this secret knowledge in order to make their lives much better such as medicine, symbols, writing, and many more inventions that in the beginning were mostly noble and natural in their origins.

These wise sages would then start making groundbreaking discoveries that have never been made before. Many of the ancient questions began to be answered, and the intelligence or Gnosis of man increased. This knowledge that we can call the seed of Gnosticism would then become some of the most prized possessions in all the world. Their discoveries made them the most incredibly rich and powerful Gnostics in the history of the world.

Almost all the ancient kingdoms of the past had dedicated Gnostic centers of learning where the most wise and trusted men would go to learn, teach and share this special knowledge. Kingdoms such as the ancient Egyptians, Hittites, Phoenicians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, and Mongol Turks all had organized schools of wisdom that were governed by the royal elite, priesthood and/or the state. Many of these empires had their own forms of wisdom and secret Gnostic teachings that could be called a religion, but they did not call it by any names that most people would recognize today. All these ancient schools were based on Gnosticism which is the science and study of the nature of all things.

It was a way of life for each individual race and kingdom that had a set code of teachings and doctrines to live in harmony with nature and one’s self in that empire. It was a brand of Gnosis that was shared between many cultures that we can simply describe as the beginning of the global government of Gnosticism. The first wise men and women from these empires would be schooled in the hidden mysteries of the universe making them who we can call the first true ancient Gnostics.

Gnosticism pointed the path to new ways of living with their forbidden secrets that all individuals could attain their own, individual liberation. By simply understanding them, one honors them and their sacrifices as well. They become an official immortal member of the Order of the Gnostics.

At first, these institutions of learning the Gnostic secrets of the world were loosely organized, and later they would become highly efficient schools that taught the elite and royal class. The knowledge that was shared and learned in these mystery schools began to help many of these ancient kingdoms make new discoveries in the world such as the art of writing, symbols, medicine, building materials, weapons, human psychological warfare, mind control, the liberation of the soul and even the explanation of God to name a few.

You may have heard of some of these different ancient schools and factions of the Order of the Gnostics such as the ancient Egyptians, Phoenician Ophites, Kohanim of Kos (Hebrew Kohanim Priesthood), Pythagoreans, Hellenes, Greek Alexandrians, Ptolemies, Platonists, Greek Gnostic Valentinians, the Roman Sons of Seth (Sethians), Celtic Druids, and the Tribe of Levi (Levites) to name a few. These different names of various groups were based on the titles of specific Gnostic luminaries who had excelled in learning above everyone else and were considered the brightest and most wise teachers of their time.

Such people like Valentinus who was actually schooled at the Greco-Egyptian Alexandria School and in Rome, who then became famous, and forming schools based on his own unique brands of Gnostic curriculum, had attracted many famous disciples who then became known as the Gnostic Valentinians. These Gnostics and many other sects at the birth of early Christianity were originally schooled at the Greek Hellenistic or Alexandrian school of gnosis that brought many of these teachings and arts to Italy and Rome. The general names of the Gnostics and Gnosticism was used to encapsulate a worldwide movement of various schools and secret mystery religions that were both inside and outside of the religious fold during the Greco-Egyptian Ptolemaic and Seleucidae Syrian Empires that included all of Greece, Egypt and Syria, to the time of the Romans, and early Christianity.

In the book, The Gnostics and Their Remains, by Charles William King, he explains the Gnostic during this time period; “THE general name “Gnostics” is used to designate several widely differing sects, which sprang up in the Eastern provinces of the Roman Empire almost simultaneously with the first planting of Christianity. That is to say, these sects then for the first time assumed a definite form, and ranged themselves under different teachers, by whose names they became known to the world, although in all probability their main doctrines had made their appearance previously in many of the cities of Asia Minor. There, it is probable, these sectaries first came into definite existence under the title of “Mystae,” upon the establishment of a direct intercourse with India and her Buddhist philosophers, under the Seleucidae and the Ptolemies.”

This was a time before organized religion had become a global phenomenon, and well before the advent of Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. Many of the ancient Gnostics and schools of Gnosticism would later become the innovators and as the basis of the arcane traditions within Phoenician Judaism, and Hellenism (Jews) that gave rise to both the Greek Orthodox Church and Roman Latin Catholic (Universal) Church. This united worldwide ancient religion of Gnosticism, to serve both Gentiles and Jews, with Jesus as the new Adam who becomes the cornerstone that is symbolized by the immortal double-headed Phoenix of the Gnostic mysteries. Only the current government of the Roman Emperor who is the master of Jerusalem carries this symbol, signifying their power as the shepherds of the Brotherhood on earth who hold the scepter of fate for all humanity.

As the art of Gnosticism progressed over the centuries, the secrets of Gnosis would become some of the most prized, guarded, and fought over human treasures in all of the civilized world. 

This is the time when the worldwide religion of the Serpent or Gnosticism had officially began to go underground, and a global war was declared by the Roman Gnostics on the other competing schools and teachers such as the Greco-Egyptians of Gnosis. Each empire would begin perfecting the art of concealing their Gnostic secrets and wisdom from whom they called the profane. A word that just means “initiated.” Elaborate systems of secrecy would be employed by these Gnostic schools.

The Gnostics of these mystery schools championed the concept of Gnosis that was later adopted by Secret Societies such as the Freemasons, Knights Templar, Jesuits, Sufis and Rosicrucians. The teachings and symbols of the Gnostics can be found in their lodges and books. In fact, according to Eliphas Levi and Albert Pike, the most prominent symbol in Masonry being the “G” signifies Gnosis.

The most common method employed by these religions and secret societies was an esoteric form of writing using allegory, parables and even purposefully placed misinformation to conceal the truth of their teachings. Names, places and  facts were changed. Shades of darkness placed over the light. Order turned into chaos.

These ancient institutions would later became the foundation of their magical state religions that would create books such as the bible with Gnostic mystery teachings with Jesus as the cornerstone leader that would be used to help influence, instruct and guide their people as a collective unit to whatever means they saw fit. The facts are that the first Jews, Christians, Fathers, Doctors, Popes and Emperors of the Romans and Greek Catholic Church were all secret Gnostics who had taken oaths to conceal the hidden truths of their teachings, the world and the state. Religion was used as a tool to help manage the people and instruct them with Gnosis on how to live their lives properly.

With that said; the ancient teachings of all the religions we see today are simply based on Gnosticism.

With the state religion came the Gnostic Saviors who took on roles like the Gods of the past who took on the form of such luminaries as Saint John, Jesus Christ, Simon Magus, Hermes Trismegistus, and Buddha. Often the Savior was the wise Gnostic teacher who helped lead his people by the wisdom of his words, arcane rituals and mystic maps were created to help people find spiritual wholeness within themselves, and their thirst for ultimate freedom quenched by these Gnostic Saviors.

Over time, these Gnostics had branched out from state religion into all forms of commerce in which they used their secret teachings to become the most successful business pioneers in all the world. These businesses were never truly solely owned by the individual, but by the priesthood and/or the state who allowed them the freedom to pursue such activities as long as the secret governments benefited and their goals were being met.

As these businesses grew and the power of these Gnostics had turned into massive fortunes, lawlessness in the brotherhood had ensued and it become harder to control their own Brethren who previously had taken oaths of secrecy and loyalty. Over time, many men became selfish and defected to other lands where they could start their own kingdoms and raise massive standing armies and navies with their wealth. They then became enemies and fathers, and brothers began warring with one another with what seemed to be no end in sight.

This is the time when these Gnostic began to be divided into various schools, tribes and empires. In order to stop these now ex-Brethren and new foes, the Gnostics employed by the state in places such as Egypt, Greece, Crete and Rome had to think of modern methods to help manage their empires, the people and the world. This gave rise to magic, sorcery, rhetoric, propaganda, mind control, and the advent of their own laws such as the of the Cretan Minos, Hebrew Moses, Greek Solon and Drakon, and later the Gnostic Roman Curia backed by the Roman gladiator sword. Soon laws such as admiralty law or maritime law were used to govern who they called the pirates of the sea’s maritime questions and offenses. Then International Commercial Law would spawn from these laws as a  body of law that governs international sale transactions, and the London Bar which manages the lawyers.

Now some of these Gnostics and secret society initiates that were backed by the state, the law and sword of the royal elite who were not business moguls, would then start practicing the art of law. As the rule of law developed over the years, the need for private police forces who would manage and keep the secrets of the state would be a necessity. Some of the smartest more modern Gnostics and Magi of our time would then enter into the halls of modern secret government law enforcement organizations such as the US backed CIA, and British MI6. In fact, it is well-known that many of the world’s wisest men who studied the occult, and many magicians were secretly employed by the royal elite and government organizations. Men such as Plato, John Dee, Roger Bacon, Aleister Crowley, and even the Great Harry Houdini all were secret society members such as the Universal Gnostic Freemasons and/or the Gnostic Christian Rosicrucians.

As this Gnostic art developed over the years, the use of both magic and alchemy as the preferred method, or should I say state religion to help manage the people. This was also the time when books and movies were starting to be released on a massive scale. Many of these Gnostic secret society members of the Freemasons, Templars and Rosicrucians would then move into the business of media such as news, magazines and movie making. Some of these men would go on to create the magical movie capital of the world, Hollywood and other entertainment businesses.

Almost all these men were practicing Gnostics who were also well-known Masons and/or Rosicrucians such as Walt Disney, the founder of Disneyland and Disney Studios; Jack Warner who founded the Warner Brothers; Louis B. Mayer, a film producer who merged to form Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM); Darryl F. Zanuck, the co-founder of 20th Century Productions; and the Hollywood movie director, Cecil B. DeMille. They were men of all religion such as Christians, Jews and even Muslims. Religion made little difference to many of them because they were engaged in the Great Work of creating a Gnostic heaven on earth. After all, they were secret Gnostics and many top-level initiates of the Freemasons and Rosicrucians.

Never before in the history of the world could these Gnostic secret societies influence so many people in so little time. The magic of images and speech on a screen that was seen by the world or by print on newspapers they could use to influence the minds of millions of people in world-record time. They would essentially create a whole industry, society, and now a world that was based on wisdom, Gnosis, God and magic. A world they would create and easily control.

The magical world we see today is but the end modern product of these ancient Gnostics, and the United States of America is really the Gnostic Masonic States of America. All the U.S. symbols are based on these ancient teachings and mythologies. A country that I feel is dedicated to the initiation of its citizens into the secret mysteries of Gnosticism. A land, where is truly not about the survival of the physically fittest, but the most spiritually and mentally fit can become enlightened here and awakened to their own Gnosis. I know because it happened to me.

Just like the major Gnostic secret societies of today being that of the Freemasons, Knights Templar, and Rosicrucians, you simply did not move up the ranks of society if you were not a member of these Gnostic schools that were ruled with an iron fist by the priesthood and/or state. Many of the great philosophers who have went before us were members of these prestigious institutions. Gnostics such as Hippocrates, Pythagoras, Socrates, Plato, Sir Godfrey Higgins, and Manly. P Hall to name a few. You simply do not become a member of this Brotherhood unless you have the blessing of the royal elite and secret government.

As you can see, Gnosticism is the world’s oldest mystery religion that has been secretly guarded by the most powerful empires and people for thousands of years. With that said, the teachings of the Gnostics and these secret societies should not always be taken literally. More often than not, there are hidden meanings that lie beneath the surface, which we modern Gnostics must decipher in order to find the truth. This book that you have in your hands will help you do just that.

For it has been said by the wise Gnostic teacher, Saint John in the Scripture and on the U.S. CIA building; “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
