When I leave this place and journey to the next realm, what will I take with me? Just as I have tried to travel light across the rivers and hills, I struggle to leave my attachments to the life of flesh behind. The cosmic journey back to God is best suited to one who travels light. Each fears death. We are of flesh and flesh knows only this life. Most forget they are also a soul and soul is of another fabric. This is the fabric of Light and leads us home to God. – Stewart Bitkoff
In this episode of the Gnostic Warrior, I interview spiritual traveler, student of Sufi Mysticism, and author, Dr. Stewart Bitkoff. He is the author of a great new book called the Appleseed Journals. It is about the journey of enlightenment, and a true American mystic folk hero named Johnny Appleseed. Stewart is also the author of several books such as A Commuter’s Guide to Enlightenment, Journey of Light Trilogy, The Ferryman’s Dream, and Sufism for the Western Seeker.
He tells us about his spiritual experiences and teachings as a practicing Sufi here in the United States. Stewart also discusses his new book on who some call the father of all apple trees planted in North America, Johnny Appleseed and also Emanuel Swedenborg. A book that is about planting seeds of enlightenment, light and love.
He explains how people forget that life is something you make-up as you go along. Each day is filled with opportunity for different experiences. Quoting from his book; The Appleseed Journals, “Oneness of All Creation is apparent to any who sees with the inner eye. The same life force which gives the robin its flight is the same life force which calls the babe from his mother’s womb.”
This interview was conducted by Moe on March 12, from San Diego County, California, with Stewart in Pennsylvania.
