In Ancient Egyptian Mythology, the God Osiris was the most celebrated of all Egyptian Gods. He was the husband of Isis, father of Horus, and brother to his adversary, Set. Osiris is usually identified as the God of the afterlife, the underworld and the dead. He is also called the King of eternity, King of the living, Master of souls; He who appears as ram in Mendes, and the Sovereign of Amenti.(1) Another curious title that you will find for Osiris is the “Morning Star.”

This same Morning Star of Osiris found in the Book of the Dead, appears to be the same Morning Star that we can find in the Book of Revelation, where Saint John says, “I will give him the Morning Star (Rev. ii. 29).” The identification of Osiris IN Pyramid texts with the Morning Star, is of great antiquity. In the tomb of Pepi we read: “Isis and Nephtys adore thee that thou mayest not depart from them in thy name of Morning Star”, and in another passage (172) we read: “The sister of Pepi is Septet (Sothis), and the birth of Pepi is as the Morning Star.”

And again we have these words, “He goeth forth into Heaven among the stars which never die ; his sister is Septet and his guide, the Morning Star, leadeth him to the Field of Peace.” In chapter 129 of the Book of the Dead is said; “Hail, O Osiris, thy ka hath come unto thee, and is with thee, and thou restest there in thy name of ka hetep Peaceful Soul). It maketh thee glorious in thy name of khu (Bright) and it maketh thee like unto the Morning Star in thy name of Pehu (the thigh).(2)

These same exact references to the “Morning Star and thigh” can also be found in the Book of Revelation; “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star;”(Rev 22:16) and in Revelation 19:16 -“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”‘

Jesus clearly says he is the root and offspring of David. The meaning of root is, “the basic cause, source, or origin of would be “Father.” Hence, this Morning Star and/or planet would be the father of Jesus, or the planet where his soul c0mes from. The sentence “On his vesture and on his thigh he has the name written”, would have secret spiritual meaning as well. The meaning of the word “On” is “something permanently or not permanently attached to something or someone;” and the word “His” simply means “Belonging to or associated with a male person or animal previously mentioned or easily identified.” Vestures means “your flesh or body”, and the meaning of written is “to express or communicate in writing;  give a written account of.”

These similarities between the Book of Revelation and the Book of the Dead seem to be in no way just a coincidence.  Not only do we have the same connections to the Morning Star and thigh, we also know that Osiris was known as the King of Kings and God of Gods.

In other passages of the Book of the Dead, the Morning Star is connected with the Bennu Bird which is the Egyptian equivalent of the phoenix, and the Bennu Bird has long been known to be the soul, or what they had called, Ba of Osiris. In The Book of the Dead: Chapter 13, we can find where the morning star reference was first originated; ‘I go in like the Hawk, and I come forth like the Bennu bird [the Phoenix], the morning star (?) of Ra’s—where, for ‘morning star;’  and in chapter 16, the Bennu or Phoenix is identified with the Dawn-god or Morning Star. Another reference from the Book of the Dead says, “I am the Bennu bird, the Heart-Soul of Ra, the Guide of the Gods to the Tuat”. Along with other references to the Bennu bird, such as “He Who Came Into Being by Himself,” “Ascending One,” and “Lord of Jubilees.”

Here is the Morning Star invocation to the sacred sun bird, Benu:

I am the Benu, the soul of Ra, and the guide of the gods in the Douat (Egyptian Underworld),

Let it be so done unto me that I may enter in like a hawk,

And that I may come forth like Bennu, the Morning Star.

Hence, when the Bennu Bird or Morning Star is mentioned in these Ancient Egyptian texts, they are referring to the soul of Osiris and the governing star or planet which his soul goes to the underworld and forth from the heavens.

WHAT IS THE MORNING STAR?

This subject of the Morning Star I have written about many times in the past; in articles such as What is the Morning Star? and Jupiter: Father of Men & Lord of the Heavens. In these articles, I reveal the true identity of this planet as Jupiter by listing many of the facts surrounding the myths and allegories that have veiled the truth for so many years. Ancient astrologers have always associated Jupiter with the birth of kings and as the Father, and Venus with fertility as the Mother. This is why Jupiter is called in ancient mythology, the King planet, Father of the Sky, Father of the Gods, and Lord of Heaven.

For example, a reference to the identity of this star, or what we should just call a planet, can be found in the treaty between Ramses II and Hattusili III of Hatti the Hittite chief, where they refer to Jupiter as “the lord of the heaven.” Proclus had written the following verses in Orpheus: “Jupiter is the king, Jupiter himself is the original source of all things; there is one power, one god, and one great ruler over all.”  The royal court and temple of Israel, who I believe may have been Ramses II and Hattusili III of Hatti the Hittite chief, had promoted Yahweh (Jupiter) as God of the entire cosmos, possessing all the positive qualities previously attributed to the other gods and goddesses.

“Give thanks unto Yahweh, for he is good, His mercy endures forever!

It is better to trust in Yahweh than men,

Better in Yahweh than princes.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of Yahweh!

We greet them from Yahweh’s house.

God Yahweh gives us light;

Bind the festive offering with cords to the altar.

Thou art my God, I will praise thee!

This would be the Old Testament (Old Law) before the keys to heaven were given to Jesus by Saint Peter, under the New Law that we know of today as the New Testament.
