Zion, Lion and the Devil

The meaning of the name Zion is ‘stone’, and the meaning of Mount Zion is “The Mount of Stone.”(1) In the bible, Zion was the hill in Jerusalem on which the city of David was built; and to the Christians, it is the heavenly city or kingdom of heaven.

The ancient symbology of the stone and mountain, had originated from the black cube-shaped stone that represents the Greek Goddess Cybele who fell to earth as a meteor to Mount Ida on the Holy Island of Crete. This is the island where the King of the Gods, Zeus (Jupiter) was born and hidden in a cave on the same said mountain. The symbols of Cybele are, the black cube stone, meteor, cornucopia, mural crown, chariot and lions.

She is the “Great Mountain Mother (Mater Idaea or Idaean Mother)”, who was often depicted in a chariot drawn by lions as if she was circling her pray. Virgil had said that the King Aeneas had ships sacred to Cybele and had decorated his ship’s prow in representation of the sacred Mount Ida and a pair of lions. In Rome, Cybele was known as the Magna Mater.

There are more mythological connections between Zion, the stone, Zeus, Mount Ida and the island of Crete. When the infant Zeus was born to his mother Rhea, his vengeful father Cronus had learned from Gaia and Uranus that his own son was destined to overcome him and become King. Rhea knowing what his father would do to him, had devised a plan to save Zeus once she gave birth to him, by handing Cronus a stone wrapped in swaddling clothes that were disguised as the infant Zeus. Cronus was fooled and promptly swallowed the stone. She then hid the real Zeus in a cave on Mount Ida in Crete, and in which she entrusted his care to the priesthood of the Curetes, who were also known as the “Ministers of Cybele.” Hence, the true Mount Zion is on Mount Ida in Crete where the covenant was made between the priests known as the Curetes, and the Great Mother to protect the true King of the Gods. A covenant that lasts to this very day.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone], a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. – Isaiah 28:16

Strabo had written, that the priests from Crete called the Curetes (Kuretes), were also known as the Corybantes, Ideei Dactyls, Cabiri, and Telchines; which are all names that were used interchangeably with one another. The great mathematician Pythagoras was initiated into the secret mysteries of the Ideei Dactyli, and I believe almost all Western Governments, some Eastern, the major secret societies, and almost all religions today are loyal to Zion (Zionists).

Because it is contained in scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner-stone, elect, precious: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame. – 1 Peter 2:6

Before the original people of Zion, or Mount Ida from Crete had come to Rome, they were known as the Idaens. Today they would be known as the Judeans or the Tribe of Judah. Jesus Christ is also a member of the tribe of Judah through King David. He is mentioned as the Lion of Judah. Hence, Jesus and many of his Roman ancestors were known as the Tribe of Judah, who were the original Idaens of Mount Ida in Crete. The same mountain in Jerusalem of the city of David that was also sacred to Cybele and the place of the stone, or Zion. Hence, both King David and Jesus were, what some people would call today, ‘Zionists.”

In the Bible, Mount Zion is synonymous with Mount Moriah, the site of the binding of Isaac and the Jewish Temple. The term is also used for the entire Land of Israel. (Wikipedia) This land, I believe in reality to encompass much of the whole world now, and the modern-day hill we know as Mount Zion, would be the symbolic representation of Zion. Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of Zion through his blood line, kings, and through his church which encompasses all religions as it is written in Zechariah 10:4; “From Judah will come the cornerstone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler.”

In 204 B.C., the Greek oracle at Delphi said that the Great Mother Goddess Cybele should be taken from Pergamum and be brought to Rome. She then went to Rome in the form of a meteorite along with her priests from Mount Ida (Mount Zion).

The poet Virgil during the time of Augustus Caesars’ famous war campaign had written about Aeneas beseeching for assistance in gaining Italy.

Generous goddess of Ida, you, Mother
of Gods, who take delight in Dindyma
and towered towns and lions yoked in pairs, now guide me in this coming battle; goddess, make this sign favorable, stride beside the Phrygian squadrons with your gracious step.

ZION – THE KINGDOM OF JUDAH ARE THE TRIBES OF JUDAH AND BENJAMIN

The tribes of Judah and Benjamin remained loyal to the House of David. These tribes formed the Kingdom of Judah, which existed until Judah was conquered by Babylon in c. 586 BC and the population deported.

When the Jews returned from Babylonian exile, residual tribal affiliations were abandoned, probably because of the impossibility of reestablishing previous tribal land holdings. However, the special religious roles decreed for the Levis and Kohanim were preserved, and the general population was called Israel. These designations are still followed today.(Wikipedia)

This past summer 2013, the newly elected Pope Francis had made a comment about lions to journalists who were requesting an interview from him;

“I don’t give interviews,” the pope said. “For me they are a bit tiring, but thank you for the company.”

Journalists “aren’t saints,” the pope joked. “I’m here among lions.”

In October, Pope Francis had said the devil is real, astute, and is never cast out forever. There is a spiritual warfare going on around us and the devil is like fierce lion that circles us;

Do not confuse the truth. Jesus fights the devil: first criterion. Second criterion: he who is not with Jesus is against Jesus. There are no attitudes in the middle. Third criterion: vigilance over our hearts because the devil is astute. He is never cast out forever. It will only be so on the last day.”

“Vigilance, because his strategy is this: ‘You became Christian. Advance in your faith. I will leave you. I will leave you tranquil. But then when you are used to not being so watchful and you feel secure, I will come back’. The Gospel today begins with the devil being cast out and ends with the devil coming back! St. Peter would say: ‘It is like a fierce lion that circles us’. It is like that.”

Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals’ ” (Rev. 5:5).
