The word hammer in mythology, is a symbol that represents the power of fire and war from the descendants of Noah Hammer Thorthrough Ham (Hammon, Hamaun, or Ammon). Ham (Hebrew: חָם, Modern H̱am Tiberian Ḥām ; Greek Χαμ, Kham ; Arabic: حام, Ḥām, “hot” or “burnt”) was written by the Greeks as “Ammon.” To the ancient Greeks (Phoenicians and Hebrews), Jupiter-Ammon is the only real God whose word is like a hammer; there with he breaks our heart, and fastens the nails of his divine influence therein, Jer. xxiii. 29. Babylon was the hammer of the whole earth; the Chaldean armies brake in pieces, and subdued a multitude Of nations, Jer. 1. 23. Nah. i.

Throughout written history and mythology, the hammer was originally a symbol of war and kingship. The hammer of the gods is the symbol of an offensive power and the natural weapon of the will. The hammer of Thor crushes icebergs, destroys ships and annihilates all his enemies. He is the war-god of the Northmen, whose stories come down to us through Scandinavian mythology. The War God Tubal Cain, who 33rd degree Freemason and Master Rosicrucian, Manly P. Hall describes; “The Mason must ‘follow in the footsteps of his forefather, Tubal-Cain, who with the mighty strength of the war god hammered his sword into a plowshare.”

Like Tubal Cain, these sons of Ham (Jupiter-Amon) were known as the Nephilim who were on the earth in those days–and also afterward–when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. These sons of Ham speak through both, the Old and New Testament with God’s word that acts like a hammer; therewith he breaks our heart, and fastens the nails of his divine influence therein, Jer. xxiii. 29. Babylon was the hammer of the whole earth; the Chaldean armies brake in pieces, and subdued a multitude Of nations, Jer. 1. 23. Nah. i. 1.

The name of the Maccabees, meaning in Hebrew “hammer”, is because the priestly family of Mattathias, the king Kohens, who would strike hammer like blows against their enemies. The family of the Maccabees is also known as the Hasmoneans. During their rule in 164-63 B.C.,  Judas was the third son of Mattathias and named Maccabeus (the Hammer), because his attacks were “hammer-like”. In 164 BCE, Judas had recaptured Jerusalem and the Temple purified, an event that gave birth to the holiday of Chanukah.

The brother and successor of Judas the Hammer who became the sovereign highpriest and “Friend of Rome” was Jonathan Apphus Maccabeus (the Hammer and the Hasmonean Dynasty). Soon after, Jonathon was brutally killed by the King of Syria, and another brother named Simon Maccabeus  succeeded the throne, but like his brother, he was killed by his son-in-law Ptolemy.

One of the most famous Hammer Kings is Charles, the Hammer, as Martel is French for hammer (born 23 August 686 AD). The Battle of Tours earned Charles the cognomen “Martel” (‘Hammer’), for the merciless way he hammered his enemies. He was the King of the Franks from 737-741. Another King Hammer comes to us from Scotland, which we can witness in Westminister Abbey, the tomb of Edward I, King of England, on which is carved “The Hammer of the Scots V.” Also known as Edward Longshanks. He was King of England from 1272 to 1307. The first son of Henry III, Edward was involved early in the political intrigues of his father’s reign, which included an outright rebellion by the English barons.

In the bible there is Hamor the Hivite who was killed by sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi in Genesis 34:26 – And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem’s house, and went out. The conquered Hivites ( a serpent) were originally the ‘ Snake’ clan and Syrian Ophites who became ” hewera of” wood and drawers of water” for the house of Jehovah and for the congregation (Josh. ix. 27).

Tubal Cain is described in the Bible under Isaiah 2:4 -“He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many people. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.” And also in Joel 3:10 – Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, “I am strong!” (Genesis 6:4)
